Drink more water

If you’re looking to slim down...

Start drinking more water.

That’s right… According to research published in Annals of Family Medicine, water intake may play a key role in how heavy you are.1

In the study, researchers recorded the height, weight, and hydration level of participants.

What they found was incredible –

The less-hydrated people were 1.59 times more likely to be obese than people who drank enough water!

While scientists aren’t sure exactly how water intake affects weight...

They think it may simply make you feel more full during the day, and less likely to overeat.

But there’s one thing the scientists are certain about – Swapping sugary drinks for water is always a good idea.2

I gave up canned sodas years ago… and have more energy, and a smaller belly because of it!

My go-to healthy drink is soda water with ice and lemon… but every so often, I like to switch it up.

And lately, one of my favorites is this Cranberry Lime Sparkler.

It’s packed with polyphenols and vitamin C – so it’s not only delicious, it’s also great for you.

Ingredients serve 4.
½ cup unsweetened cranberry juice (NOT cranberry cocktail – 100% Cranberry juice)
2 tablespoons granulated stevia (or more, to taste)*
¼ cup fresh or frozen whole cranberries
Juice of 2 limes
4 cups sparkling water
Fresh mint, for garnish
Lime wedges, for garnish

*Stevia is the only no-calorie sweetener I like, but feel free to use whatever works best for you and your diet...you can also use a little honey if you’d prefer. Liquid stevia also works – just add 4-5 drops.

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine the cranberry juice, stevia and whole cranberries, and bring to a simmer until stevia is completely dissolved – about 3 minutes. Taste, and adjust sweetness accordingly – it should only be slightly sweet. Let cool completely, and store in the fridge until you’re ready to make your sparkler. Whisk lime juice into the cranberry mixture, and divide between 4 glasses (or pour into a pitcher!) Top with ice, and divide the sparkling water between the 4 glasses. Garnish with mint and lime.

This cranberry lime sparkler is a tasty way to stay hydrated... and keep slim and trim, too!

Many clients ask me about caffeine and how it can sometimes be a barrier to fat reduction. Coffee is such a routine part of lives and many folks believe they cannot live without it, but you would be surprised. But first, why should you cut back or eliminate it altogether? Let's start by looking at a blatant fact: coffee is a toxin. I think most people know this, but they prefer to ignore it because of the great boost it provides. But when you think about the strong effects caffeine can have on your body (ie. waking you up early in the morning or keeping you up at night, when you naturally would be tired or even exhausted), it definitely shakes you up. As a toxin, it can be stored in your fat cells, especially if your metabolic system is not optimal. Once stored there, it can be quite difficult to remove, even with diet and exercise.

Our fat reduction services utilize LED lights to target specific areas of fat cells and shrinks them, however some clients who drink excessive caffeine, may not get optimum results because they are refilling the fat cells with the toxins from the caffeine.

Did you know that your metabolism may be preventing you from losing fat?

5 reasons to start walking today: Fall is the best time to start walking

1. It’s not too hot and not too cold. Just right. The temperature is not going to stay this perfect for long, so get out and enjoy it!

2. You’ll forget about it if you don’t start immediately. If you start today, you just might keep it up and make it a habit. Don’t put off to tomorrow, what you could do today. Did you know that 30 minutes of walking per day can improve your quality of life?

3. Walking relieves stress. It could also be the only time in your day that you are not rushing to get somewhere else or do something. When you are walking, you goal is not to get to a specific appointment or do anything at all, except for walk. This is time you can reflect, clear your mind, stretch out your arms and legs…breathe purposefully.

4. Walking can improve relationships. If you can arrange daily walking with a friend or relative, it could be the only time in your busy day, that you take time to connect with an important relationship.

5. Walking burns fat. You wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t want to tighten, tone and slim your healthy body. You don’t need to do any crazy exercises to maintain or improve your body. Lose that unnecessary cellulite. Reduce fat. Tighten those legs and abs. You got this one!
